Theme: Baptism is the immersing of believers in Jesus Christ united them to the church and is a picture of conversion from sin to Jesus Christ. Aim: Let us be found faithful as we practice baptism corresponding to faith in Christ, an appeal for a good conscience washed clean through the blood of Christ. Theme: Christ rose from the dead. Aim: Pray that God would strengthen our faith in Christ’s resurrection and help us to fight for hope in an often hopeless world, because of the resurrection. “Pay Your Taxes & Marriage Isn’t Forever” Mark 12:13-27

Theme: Jesus said to give up your life to God, and that Yahweh is the God of the living. Aim: Worship God with your whole life, and submit to our earthly government. Pray for faith to believe in the resurrection and to find hope, not in earthly marriage, but being united to Jesus Christ as our Bridegroom. (1) Pay Your Taxes (Mark 12:13-17) (2) Marriage Isn’t Forever (Mark 12:18–27).

“Jesus Rides on in Majesty” Mark 11:1-25

Theme: Jesus is a King who can’t be deceived, who rejects dead religion, and who enables prayer. Aim: Pray that God would give us faith, that He would preserve us. Pray that God would give us the gift of daily repentance. Pray that God would set our affections and love upon Jesus. Pray that God would save our family and friends from a false sense of security in religion. “Approaching Salvation” Mark 9:14-50

Theme: Faith in Christ is being fully dependent upon Jesus’ death and resurrection and it bears the fruit of humility, cooperation, and perseverance. Aim: Let this text strengthen your faith and bear the fruit of humility and perseverance in your fight against your sin with hope in the gospel. Let this text help you to see the seriousness of God’s coming wrath. “God Redeems His People” Ruth 4:1-22

Theme: God redeems His people. Aim: Put your hope in God’s redemption through Ruth’s great-great grandson; King David’s greater Son, Jesus Christ. (1) A Proper Redeemer (Ruth 4:1-6) (2) God’s Promise (Ruth 4:7-12) (3) A Marriage (Ruth 4:13-17) (4) Genealogy of Another Redeemer (Ruth 4:18-22)

“God Provides for His People” Ruth 2:1-3:18

Theme: God’s people are refugees who take refuge in God by seeking a Redeemer and waiting for redemption. Aim: Take refuge from the trials of this world and from God’s eternal wrath in the Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Theme: In the midst of sin and suffering, God is kind in His providence to draw His people to Himself with good news. Aim: Trust in the good news of God’s provision of salvation through the living water and bread of life, Jesus Christ (1) Suffering (Ruth 1:1-5) (2) God’s Providential Kindness (Ruth 1:6-18) (3) Hope (Ruth 1:19-22)
