“Jesus Didn’t Want to Die, Was Arrested, & Abandoned” Mark 14:26-72

“Jesus Didn’t Want to Die, Was Arrested, & Abandoned” Mark 14:26-72

An Expositional Sermon
What is love? We say “I love you” to people, but what does that mean? I really like you a lot? I want to see you do well? I hope the best for you? Is love more than just physical attraction or liking someone because you’re familiar with each other? Is there something more to love than just feeling stuff? Love is sacrifice. Love is denying what is comfortable for me for the benefit of another. Love is doing for someone else what is in their best interested and seeking their greatest good. 1 John 3:16 is the fountainhead of what love is and how true love behaves, “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” Love is more than a feeling, it is a committed decision, and it’s an action. In the text today we see a picture of love, but also of it’s opposite or antithesis.
