“The Beginning of Israel” Genesis 32:1-36:43

“The Beginning of Israel” Genesis 32:1-36:43

An Expositional Sermon
This text is all about how God fulfills his promise to graciously create and preserve His people contrary to what they deserve. Can men strive with God? Yes, but only through God’s promised Messiah. Is reconciliation possible? Yes, we can be reconciled to God, and this is the ground of pursuing reconciliation with others. Is there any justice? Yes, God is perfectly just, and the just wrath that we deserve for our sin was satisfied in Christ, and He will come again to judge the living and the dead. Even though we may not see perfect justice in this life, it is coming. And then finally, God creates His people in fulfillment of His promises. Are you part of God’s people? Will you be found in Christ? Our lives are short, friends, don’t wait for some day in the future to devote yours heart, mind, and life to Christ. Turn and believe in Him today, and live each day of your life with joy fixed upon your reconciliation to God through Christ. This is where we as Christians rest; in our reconciliation to God. And this is the message that God has given us to tell our friends and family, “Be reconciled to God.” (2 Cor. 5:20) Repent and believe in the solid rock of Jesus Christ.
