“Jesus Christ, Fully Man” Hebrews 2:9-10, 14-15; 4:15

Theme: Jesus Christ became fully man to bear our sin and God’s wrath in His body on the cross. Aim: Put your faith in the Son of Man, Jesus Christ. (1) He Came to Relate to Us (Hebrews 4:15) (2) He Came to Save Us from Sin & Death (Hebrews 2:14-15) (3) Jesus Became Man to Be Crowned as King & Bring Many Sons to Glory (Hebrews 2:9-10)

“The Beauty of the King” Mark 9:1-13

Theme: Jesus is resplendent [shining] in glory, is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets by dying and being raise from the dead. Aim: Walk away from this text in awe of Christ, and know more clearly that His the perfect fulfillment of God’s Word, and that we might walk with the hope of his care for us because Jesus died and rose again from the grave for His people. (1) Jesus Is Glorious (Mark 9:1-4) (2) What does Jesus Do? He fulfills the Law & the Prophets (Mark 9:5-8) (3) How? Through His death and resurrection (Mark 9:9-13)

“Freedom from Slavery to Sin” Mark 8:27-38

Theme: Jesus is the Messiah, who came to die and be raised from the dead, who requires our death. Aim: Trust in Jesus as God’s Messiah, trust in the power of His death and resurrection alone to save you from sin, death and God’s wrath, and die to your self-centeredness. Die to yourself so that Jesus might be all in your life. Take up the cross of identifying with Jesus in the face of the opposition of this world. (1) Who Is Jesus?
