“Justice Fuels Worship” Habakkuk 1:1-3:19 (Overview)

An Expositional Sermon
God is the sovereign protector of His people. Habakkuk knew this, and he asked God to make it known, but God delayed. Yet, as God explained how what He was going to do was just, Habakkuk took solace in God’s sovereignty over all things, and asked God to remember mercy in the midst of His wrath. God does not abandon His people even though it may feel like it at times. He is unchangeably faithful to save. Let’s pray for each other to be able to cling to the certain hope that in Christ, God has already fought for His people, that even now He will be with us to the very end of our days, and that one day Jesus will come back for us to bring us to be with Him where He is forever. Cling to this truth. He will not let go of His sheep. He will preserve us to the end. He fought for us and will continue to fight for you. Jesus is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them (Heb. 7:25). Cling to Christ by faith.
