“Imitate Lives Worthy of the Gospel” Philippians 2:19-3:21

An Expositional Sermon
We’re to imitate Christ (2:5-11), and we’re to imitate Paul. Paul wrote in 1 Cor. 11:1, “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” So, we imitate Paul. And we’re to imitate those who imitate Paul. This is Great Commission discipleship. Following Christ, by following those who follow Christ, by following those who follow those who follow Christ. Brothers and sisters, imitate godly examples. Is you’re life a picture of imitating disciples like this? Are you struggling to grow in your knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ? Are you using all of your strength and straining for what lies ahead – your resurrection to be with Christ? Jesus wants you. He’s calling you to trust Him. He’s calling you to trust in His death and resurrection. He’s calling each of us to put our hope in His promise to bring us to be with Him. Is this what you long for? Imitate these brothers’ faith.
