Peter and John are arrested for preaching in Jesus the resurrection from the dead, still 5,000 men heard, believed, and came. They boldly told the leaders who arrested them that the lame man was healed by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom they crucified, and Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved in fulfillment of Psalm 118. They charged Peter and John not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus, they refused, and were then let go. When Peter and John were back with friends they lifted their voice together praising God with Psalm 2. The leaders are coming against them even as God predestined. They asked God to help them continue to speak God’s Word will boldness in the face of threats and to do signs and wonders, and He did. Those who believed were unified, they shared their things, and they gave testimony of the resurrection. There was no need, they shared everything and the Apostles distributed everything as needed. Joseph (Barnabas) sold a field and gave the money to the Apostles.
Praise God that in the name of Jesus Christ we can be saved. Is this your hope today? Do nothing more until you’ve refreshed your love for Christ through His Word.
