Peter and John were going to pray at the Temple. Peter said to a lame man, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” He got up and walked in with them and was praising God. He clung to Peter and John and the people were astounded and gathered. Peter preached that they killed Jesus, and that this man was healed by faith in Christ’s name. He pointed out their ignorance. Jesus fulfills the Bible, so repent and turn back that their sins might be blotted out. Jesus fulfills Moses, Samuel, the prophets, and God’s covenant promise to Abraham. God raised Jesus up from the dead. God sent Jesus to them first to bless them by turning every one of them from their wickedness.
How will you respond to Jesus Christ? He is the one who would come to save God’s people who fulfills the Bible. Turn from your sin, trust in Christ’s death and resurrection as a penal substitutionary sacrifice to satisfy God’s eternal wrath that you deserve.
