Acts 2 – Pentecost, New Testament Church

Acts 2 – Pentecost, New Testament Church

50 days after Christ’s resurrection [Sunday] all of Christ’s followers were together, wind filled the house, divided tongues as of fire rested on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak many languages by the Holy Spirit. They spoke to men from about 15 nations, and they all heard them speak in their own languages. They thought Christ’s followers were drunk. Peter got up to preach that this fulfilled the Bible – that this Jesus whom they crucified at the hands of lawless men was, “delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God.” God raised Jesus from the dead in fulfillment of the Bible. Jesus is the Christ [Messiah]. They were cut to the heart and asked what they could do. Peter said, “Repent and be baptized…in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the Holy Spirit.” 3,000 people were added to their number that day. The church devoted itself to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer. Signs and wonders were done through the apostles. They sold all they had and had all things in common. They met day by day at the temple, and breaking bread in homes. The Lord added to their number day by day.

Devote yourself to Christ through the Apostles teaching, repent from your sin, believe on Christ, get baptized, join a church, and give praise to God with a glad and generous heart. Pray that God would add to our number day by day those who are being saved for our good and His glory.
