Man multiplied, the “sons of God” married the “daughters of man”, so the Lord limited man’s lifespan to 120 years. The Lord saw that the thoughts and intentions of man was only evil continually. He was grieved He made them. Noah found favor in God’s sight, was righteous, blameless in his generation, and walked with God – and had Shem, Ham, and Japheth. God warned Noah of a flood and told him to build a boat, bring his family on, and to bring male and female of every living thing on board – along with food. God was going to destroy all life with a flood, but God promised to establish a covenant with Noah. Noah did everything God commanded him.
God will not delay His judgment forever. God is kind to preserve the lineage of the promised Messiah through the line of Noah. God will punish sin, and no one can escape His gaze.
