“True Greatness” Mark 10:32-52

Theme: Jesus leads by dying and rising again, by bearing wrath, serving, ransoming and giving sight. Aim: Let this text reorient how you think about what is great, and submit to Jesus’ authority with a grateful heart. Three Aspects of the Greatness of Christ (1) Death & Resurrection (Mark 10:32-34) (2) Bearing God’s Wrath, Serving, & Giving His Life as a Ransom for Many (Mark 10:35-45) (3) Giving Sight (Mark 10:46-52)

“Approaching Salvation” Mark 9:14-50

Theme: Faith in Christ is being fully dependent upon Jesus’ death and resurrection and it bears the fruit of humility, cooperation, and perseverance. Aim: Let this text strengthen your faith and bear the fruit of humility and perseverance in your fight against your sin with hope in the gospel. Let this text help you to see the seriousness of God’s coming wrath. (1) Faith Is Fundamental (Mark 9:14-29) (2) The Cross & Resurrection Fuel Faith (Mark 9:30-32) (3) Faith Leads to Humility (Mark 9:33-37) (4) Faith Encourages Others to Serve Christ (Mark 9:38-41) (5) Faith is a Fight (Mark 9:42-50)

“Jesus Christ, Fully Man” Hebrews 2:9-10, 14-15; 4:15

Theme: Jesus Christ became fully man to bear our sin and God’s wrath in His body on the cross. Aim: Put your faith in the Son of Man, Jesus Christ. (1) He Came to Relate to Us (Hebrews 4:15) (2) He Came to Save Us from Sin & Death (Hebrews 2:14-15) (3) Jesus Became Man to Be Crowned as King & Bring Many Sons to Glory (Hebrews 2:9-10)

“The Beauty of the King” Mark 9:1-13

Theme: Jesus is resplendent [shining] in glory, is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets by dying and being raise from the dead. Aim: Walk away from this text in awe of Christ, and know more clearly that His the perfect fulfillment of God’s Word, and that we might walk with the hope of his care for us because Jesus died and rose again from the grave for His people. (1) Jesus Is Glorious (Mark 9:1-4) (2) What does Jesus Do? He fulfills the Law & the Prophets (Mark 9:5-8) (3) How? Through His death and resurrection (Mark 9:9-13)
