Susan Gentz, Deaconess of Children’s Ministry
Susan grew up in Ankeny, IA and after some time away in the D.C. area is grateful to be back in the great state of Iowa. She accepted Christ as her savior at a young age as she understood she was a sinner saved by grace through faith alone. In 2014 she married her husband, Ben Gentz and the two joined Redeemer Baptist Church in 2016. Susan has experience and enjoys working in children’s ministry– teaching children and organizing volunteers. She enjoys running, biking, spending time with family and getting to know the members of Redeemer Baptist Church.
Brian Hoing, Deacon of Facility and Set-Up
Brian grew up in Green Mountain, Iowa on the farm. He grew up going to church and made a profession of faith in Christ when he was 13 years old at a youth fellowship meeting. Brian continued to attend church as he grew, but as he got older he spent much of his time more consumed with surviving life and concerned more about the things of the world than the things of God. In 2003 Brian was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. While this was an extremely difficult time in his life the Lord used this to make him consider eternity and take his sin and his relationship with Christ seriously. Since that time Brian has grown in his love for Christ and for Christ’s body, the church. He believes that He is a sinner who deserves only God’s wrath for His sin, but through faith alone in Christ alone he has found forgiveness for his sins and salvation in Christ. He enjoys singing, riding his bike, spending time with family and serving at RBC.
